Research in Action: Call for Proposals

Speak at this year’s Green Ambassadors Institute.

We believe in the interconnectivity of social and environmental justice, and of youth and adults working together for a new vision of sustainability. Our Green Ambassadors program works to connect young people and educators to the nature and resources that thrive within our own city through the lenses of water, food, energy and waste.

The Green Ambassadors Institute — the learning lab and professional development incubator of Environmental Charter Schools (ECS) — invites K-12 educators, university researchers, community leaders, policymakers and businesses to join us for three daylong summits that explore best practices in environmental education, service learning and urban sustainability. Research in Action is the 2016-17 theme for the Green Ambassadors Institute.

We invite you to submit a workshop that connects to the theme of Research in Action, sharing hands-on urban sustainability projects and strategies for authentic community-led research. We aim to equip over 100 educators and organizations from all over Los Angeles and Southern California to bring back content, resources and field trip ideas to their students. Please submit below. Proposals are due Sept 6, 2016. Also register at www.greenambassadors.org/register if you haven’t already.
