High School students encourage Los Angeles to take a stand against single use plastic
Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour
Plastic water bottles are just ONE of the ‘convenient’ single-use plastics that get used for a matter of minutes before
they make their way to the landfill for a lifetime.
Students from the Green Ambassadors program at Environmental Charter High School have partnered with the Surfrider Foundation and Algalita Marine Research Foundation to “Rise Above Plastics.” During the month of May, 2009, students will tour Los Angeles to talk about the impact of plastic on our lives and the environment.
If you are interested in having Green Ambassadors give the Rise Above Plastics presentation to your classroom, school or organization, please contact Lindsey Jurca at education@surfriderwlam.org. Click here for more information.
