Train builder AnsaldoBreda is hosting a job fair on May 27 to help fill as many as 2,000 green manufacturing and construction jobs. Keeping with the idea that the U.S. needs not only green jobs, but good green jobs, some of the positions will pay up to $55,000 per year.
“AnsaldoBreda, the world’s oldest builder of trains, has proposed to locate and build both the company’s American LEED certified manufacturing facility and its corporate headquarters in Los Angeles contingent upon the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority exercising its existing option for AnsaldoBreda to build 100 light rail vehicles (the MTA Board will be voting on May 28, 2009).” Source: Keep LA Jobs on Track
The job fair is being co-sponsored by the L.A. County Federation of Labor, the AFL-CIO, and the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (the host facility). The event starts at 3:00 pm at the college - 400 West Washington Boulevard. If you’re interested in attending, register online.
